Norway SAF-T: file size limitations to upload in Altinn Portal
The Norwegian tax authority has a size limits on attachments for uploading to the tax authority portal. The maximum for each XML file is 2GB. The XML file must also be zipped before upload to reduce size.
In OIC, user will see an error message if the report returns data too large for upload to the tax authority: “The number of lines is too large to upload to tax authority. Please re-run the report for shorter periods”
The Norwegian tax authority recommends splitting the data into monthly (or weekly if the company has a very large number of transactions) periods. If the user sees the above message, they need to re-run the report for each month and zip each file before upload to tax authority.
Note that a maximum of 10 files, ZIP or XML, can be attached per transmission. Each ZIP can contain single XML files of up to 2 GB, which is the maximum file size.
