Return Summary Analysis - A1
The
Return Summary Analysis
( A1
) is a standard sheet that appears by default in all calculations.Schedule A1
forms a backup schedule to the actual return and shows all the return boxes along with the tax codes and rates applicable to each. On this schedule you can add cross references to trace each number back to its source. The A2
schedule contains any other information required to create the return, such as the period number and year.Data Flow
A1
is populated via three methods: source data which pulls its data from the linked transaction sheets ( I
, N
, and O
), Manual
entry boxes which appear in blue, and formula boxes. Tax adjustments such as Partial Exemption
also flow to the A1
sheet. In some jurisdictions, special carry forward boxes are present which roll forward to automatically populate in the next period calculation. For the first period calculation, a manual entry box must be populated once, and thereafter, automation occurs in the following periods.
Data from
A1
flows to the A
sheet to populate the return and the Management Information
( B
) sheet to populate the VAT repayable or receivable.Validation Errors
Validation errors appear if there are inconsistencies in the net and VAT amounts, or unexpected negative figures based on the requirements mentioned by the respective tax authority.
