Geographic tables

Geographic name table

Use a Geographic Name table if you are passing zip codes along with city, county, and district names to the system, and the spellings of the jurisdictional names within your system don't match the spellings carried in the system. Also, you can use this table if your system uses numerical references or alpha abbreviation for state designations that don't match the ones used by the United States Postal Service.
By creating this cross-reference table, you can create import files that cross-reference your internal jurisdictional codes or names to the abbreviations or spellings found in the the system rate database without having to change your internal spellings.
