Enveloping e-filed returns

If you're using the Envelope feature for state e-filing, you need to create separate enveloped files based on form number. One form can't be enveloped with another form number.
For example, if you file Form 2100, all electronic returns enveloped within a single file must be for Form 2100.

Alabama

The envelope feature's available for these returns:
  • Form 2100 - Sales Tax Return
  • Form 2105 - Sales Tax Return with Estimated Payment
  • Form 2410 - Rental Tax Return
  • Form 2610 - Consumers Use Tax Return
  • Form 2620 - Sellers Use Tax Return

Iowa

The envelope feature's available for these returns:
  • Consumer's Use Tax Quarterly / Annual Return
  • Retail Use Tax Monthly Deposit
  • Retail Use Tax Quarterly / Annual Return
  • Sales Tax Monthly Deposit
  • Sales Tax Quarterly / Annual Return

Pennsylvania

If you're using the envelope feature for Pennsylvania e-filing, you must create 2 separate envelope files; one with tax return data and one with payment data. The state requires 2 separate uploads.

Virginia

If you're using the Envelope feature for Virginia e-filing, you need to create separate enveloped files based on specific forms. One form can't be enveloped with another form. For example, if you file ST-1 Retail Sales and Use Tax Return (Multiple Locations), all electronic returns enveloped within a single file must be for ST-1 Retail Sales and Use Tax Return (Multiple Locations).
