Retrieve e-files
Electronic tax return files get created using the Electronic Filing feature in the Tax Accounting System (TAS). After the e-files have been processed, the ZIP file containing the files can be retrieved.
The default name for the e-file file is
State_TaxPeriod_FormNumber_LocatorNumber.txt
. For example, if you file the 2100 -
AL_Oct_2100_0000LN.txt
gets created.note
The electronic tax return file for the following states doesn't use the .txt file extension. After you review your file, you can transmit your electronic tax return(s) to the appropriate state or VAN.
