Site and jurisdiction codes for Missouri

The state of Missouri requires that a site code be assigned for each tax area in which vendors' use tax is reported.
Generally, vendor use tax records don't include this information with balance data or as part of location data. Site codes let you enter and store site code information with your entity and use it for Missouri compliance reporting on Form 53V - Vendors Use Tax Return.
You can add a site code by jurisdiction code or by geographic names.
note
  • Site codes need to be 4-digits.
  • Each record requires an entry in site code and a selection from the county, city, and district fields.
  • You can assign a site code only once.

Add site code by jurisdiction

If you choose to add a Site Code using the Jurisdiction Code option, you can only edit the Site Code and Jurisdiction Code fields and the other fields are read-only.
The Jurisdiction Code is a unique code associated with a tax area. It's a combination of City code, County code, and District code (XXXXX-XXX-XXX).
The Jurisdiction code is included in the Missouri Site Code import template under the Site Codes tab.

Add site code by geographic name

If you choose to add a Site Code using the Geographic Names option, you can only edit the Site Code, County, City, and Districts fields. The other fields will be read-only.
