Synchronize California locations
Synchronization of California locations is required to electronically file with the state of California.
This feature uses the Account Number entered on the California Organizer setup screen (see Step 3 of Entity Configuration). Using your account number, a web service is initiated with the state to access location data stored on the state servers as part of the registration process with the state.
The state location data is retrieved, cross-referenced to the location data already entered in the software, and written to the applicable fields as a replacement to the entry in the software. The cross-reference is reliant on an entry in the Business Code 1 field representing the Site Number on Schedule C for reporting by location. If a site number is not entered or if the entry does not match the data on the state server no update will occur.
The update is limited to the following fields for each location:
- Name
- Location Address
- State/Province
- Zip Postal Code
- Jurisdiction Code 1
