Global Organizer
The global components of Organizer consist of the following categories:
- Company Information
- Check Requests
- Calculation Options
- Print Options
Data set up in these components gets transferred into your tax return during Transfer. Once these global data elements are within the tax return, they then carry into or are utilized by all the tax returns within the system.
Calculation options
Calculation Options is a global component of Organizer. Calculation Options allows you to designate whether or not you want discounts, penalties, or interest to be applied to all returns. The system defaults to applying discounts, penalties, and interest to all tax returns where applicable. Discount, penalty, and interest calculations get determined by comparing the tax return due date with the date filed reflected on the tax return.
Rounding option
The system defaults to the Cents rounding option, which rounds all dollar amounts per jurisdictional filing instructions. Select collars to round all dollar amounts regardless of jurisdictional filing instructions.
Print options
Print Options is a global component of Organizer. Print Options includes the following options:
- Suppress printing of diagnostics
- Suppress printing of check requests
- Suppress printing of form approval diagnostics
- Suppress printing of returns
- Print all states
- Print all locals
- Print all Canadian
- Suppress printing of page numbers
Print Option for mailing labels includes the option
Print all labels
. The system defaults all print options to not selected. Tax return diagnostics inform you of discrepancies in your tax return. Discrepancies can be of an informational or severe nature. You have the option of suppressing the print of tax return diagnostics.Examples of a tax return diagnostic include:
- Tax amount due on tax return doesn't match the amount of check on check request
- Total amount of detail schedule doesn't match amount on face of tax return
The system generates form approval diagnostics for tax returns that lack formal written approval from the jurisdiction to be filed as a facsimile tax return. The system also generates form approval diagnostics for tax returns if the jurisdiction has special instructions in order to file a facsimile tax return.
Examples of form approval diagnostics are:
- Tax return must be printed on a certain weight of paper
- Original blank jurisdictional supplied preprinted return must accompany the facsimile tax return
Company information
Company Information includes fields for the entity's company name, DBA name, address, and telephone number. Also included are identification numbers such as federal identification number and business code.
A field's provided for a signature title for the tax returns' signatory, fiscal year start and end, incorporation date, and incorporation state. Currently, fiscal year start and end dates, along with incorporation date and state, are informational fields only. These fields aren't used in any tax calculations or return presentations at this time.
Check request
With the global check request feature, you can customize certain common check request fields and descriptions one time, and have the format carry to all state, local, and Canadian federal and provincial check requests for the tax return.
Minimal manual entry at the tax return level is necessary to complete individual check request forms, which print with the tax returns.
Print by collector
Instead of selecting to print All States, All Locals, and or All Canadian using Print Options, you have the option to select for printing individual or groupings of jurisdictions using the organizer option Print by Collector.

- Country
- States
- State Locals
- Localities
