Import data for your Prepayment Worksheet

Prepayment Worksheet Import allows you to streamline the process of setting up prepayment amounts for tax returns by importing data from one template file.

Prepayment Worksheet download template

The Prepayment Worksheet template's an export template file of the prepayments worksheet for the tax returns currently displayed.
When selecting
Download Template
, you have the option to open and view an Excel view of the template or save the template to a .csv file. Prepayments can be added in the .csv file and the file then used to import those prepayments into the selected workarea or entity's prepayment worksheet.
The Prepayment Worksheet Template contains the following fields for each tax return:
  • Entity Number
: The alpha, numeric, or alpha-numeric code you assigned when you created the entity.
  • Region
: A region code assigned by the system comprised of the abbreviation for Country and State.
  • Tax Return
: Title for the tax return.
  • Return Code
: An internal code assigned by the system that's unique for each tax return.
  • Location
: Location Code assigned in Locations when prepayments are determined by location (i.e., Florida DR-15/DR-7). Not applicable if prepayments aren't by location for tax return.
  • Tax Period Prepayment Entry
fields: These fields are typically blank. If a .csv file is created to use as an import file, prepayment amounts would be entered in these fields.
note
Prepayment worksheet entries already existing in the tax periods for the returns aren't part of the exported prepayment worksheet template.
If a prepayment amount already exists in the prepayment worksheet for a tax period:
  • Entering an amount in the same tax period in the prepayment worksheet template will overwrite the prepayment amount in the prepayment worksheet once the template file is imported
  • Leaving the same tax period field blank in the prepayment worksheet template will leave the existing prepayment amount in the prepayment worksheet intact once the template file is imported because this record won't be imported
  • Entering a 0 or 0.00 in the same tax period in the prepayment worksheet template will remove the prepayment amount in the prepayment worksheet once the template file gets imported

Import prepayments

After you make and save your prepayment amounts in the prepayment worksheet template .csv file, the next step in Prepayments Worksheet Import is to import the prepayment amounts into the prepayment worksheet. Since the import file is a set format you won't need to create an import file template. Simply browse or drag the completed template .csv file to the Import page and import your prepayments into the prepayment worksheet.
