How Sales and Use can help
Product updates in this release
Customers can't fix the errors using the messages on the screens.
Sales and Use now provides enhanced messages with actionable guidance to resolve those errors.
We updated all messages to clearly explain the errors and include remediation steps, enabling users to resolve the issues with minimal effort.
Customers are unable to identify the tax areas associated with a specific postal code.
Sales and Use now provides a list of all the tax areas for the specified postal code.
We introduced a new content tool called
Zip Codes
with this release. This provides a list of all the tax areas for a specific zip code, including ZIP4 extension.

Key notes

You should print returns as the final compliance step for the binder period. The new binder-level print option allows ad hoc printing, but this is not recommended for the smooth operation of the OSU and OTW portal.
UI enhancements
We improved the error messages on the
Journals
and
Tools
screens to help you better understand the corrective steps to fix errors.
Key benefits:
The messages offer greater clarity and provide actionable guidance to help you diagnose and solve errors.
Content tools updates
We've added a new content tool that allows you to look up all tax areas and their respective tax area codes based on a Zip Code and ZIP4 Extension. The tool offers two view options: by Tax Area and by ZIP4 Range. If you don't need the ZIP4 information, lookup by tax area.
" "
If you need a lookup based on ZIP5 and its extension but don't know the extension codes within a ZIP5, you can use the lookup by ZIP4 Range.
" "
Key Benefits:
You can browse all the tax area codes in Sales and Use and filter them by postal code.
Processes view and dashboard updates
  • We enhanced the Processes View to include binder-level print processes in both the View All and Recent 5 process views. Previously, you could only find these processes on the Print Dashboard.
  • We updated the Print Dashboard to hide batch-print processes, as this dashboard is specific to a particular binder and shouldn't include metrics across different entities or binders.
