ONESOURCE Sales and Use Tax Compliance Version 24.12.1 is scheduled for release on January 28, 2025.

State notes

All of the following changes were incorporated into the proper returns and accompanying schedules for that state or locale. Listed changes are effective November 1, 2024, unless noted otherwise.
Alabama locals
Tallassee rental tax types jurisdiction codes changed to 9563 within Tallapoosa County or 9564 within Elmore County. All other tax types jurisdiction codes will remain 9363 within Tallapoosa County or 9364 within Elmore County.

Tax rate changes

All of the following tax rate changes were incorporated into the application. Listed changes are effective November 1, 2024, unless noted otherwise.
Virginia locals
The following cities/counties increased the meals tax rate:
  • Botetourt County rate increased from 4.000% to 6.000%. The penalty rate for late filing change decreased from 10.000% to 7.000% and added a $10 minimum penalty Amount.
  • Town of Broadway rate increased from 4.000% to 5.000%.
  • Rockingham County rate increased from 4.000% to 6.000%. Effective July 1, 2021.

Product updates in this release
Users are unable to create binders for annual returns that begin with June month.
OSU now supports annual filing periods that begin with June month of a year and end with July month of next year.
We've added a new period type
CA/CHI FISCAL YEAR
 with this release so that the users can choose this period type while creating annual filing binders.
Binder updates
CA/CHI FISCAL YEAR is added as a new period type for the new binders.
Key benefits: Users can choose this new period type while creating the binders for annual filing periods that begin from July month of a year to the June month of next year.
Print updates
The list of collecting authorities on the binder-level print screen is more refined to be consistent with the list of collecting authorities provided in the content tools.
Key benefits: Users can now choose only the relevant local authorities while doing a binder-level print.

Open issues

Virginia locals
La Vista Occupation Tax Remittance Form: The current Occupation Tax rate is 1.500%. This rate will be updated to 1.000% in a future release.
Illinois locals
  • Aurora Food and Beverage Tax Return Form: The current IBT number may show blank. This number will be updated in a future release.
  • Naperville Non-Downtown Food and Beverage Tax Form: Taxpayer Title and Sign Date will print blank. This will be correct in the next release.
  • Naperville Downtown Food and Beverage Tax Form: Taxpayer Title and Sign Date will print blank. This will be correct in the next release.

Closed issues

Louisiana locals
The Jefferson Davis Parish Sales & Use Tax Report has been updated to include the 2 new districts reporting on Columns J & K. Print will now include the updated form as well. Additionally, the cities of Jennings and Welsh, reporting in Columns B & D, respectively, will now populate with the correct tax amount.
Lines 13 and 14 will now populate correctly for the city of Mer Rouge in Morehouse Parish.
Virginia locals
Charlottesville, VA Line 2d abbreviation Stmt. 1 change to full Statement 1, Whitepaper Aligned Total allowable deductions with amount, and Multiple location Business location information discrepancy fixed.
Christiansburg, VA, the bank account name and account number have been added to the organizer. These details are now entered in the organizer instead of being just a form entry.

We've fixed issues with Return Export in this release.
