State notes

All changes listed in the following have been incorporated into the returns and accompanying schedules for the respective state or locale. These changes are effective May 1, 2025, unless otherwise noted.
Alabama Locals
  • Glencoe changed administration from STACS to ADOR.
  • Sheffield changed administration from STACS to ADOR.
Canada – Electronic Filing
We have added the capacity to electronically file the Canada GST/HST return. Refer to Appendix 1 for the details on how to produce and transmit this return.
Idaho Locals
We have updated the local sales tax return forms of these local cities:
  • The city of Harrison
  • The city of Stanley
  • The city of Victor
Virginia Electronic Filing
The electronic files generated from our system no longer start with two blank lines. Previously clients would enter "2" in the Header Lines box on the Virginia Upload website; now clients should leave this box blank.

Tax rate changes

All tax rate changes listed in the following have been incorporated into the application. These changes are effective May 1, 2025, unless otherwise noted.
Alaska Locals
Remote Seller Tax had been added for the following:
  • The city of Eilm added a 3.000% remote seller tax rate.
Indiana Locals
  • Effective May 1st, 2025, Orange County will impose a Food and Beverage Tax at a rate of 1.000%.
South Carolina County
  • Effective May 1st, 2025, the following counties have added their 1% local sales tax rate:
    • Georgetown County is adding a new 1% Capital Projects Tax, increasing the county’s Sales Tax rate to 7%.
    • Horry County is adding a new 1% Transportation Tax; the county's Sales Tax rate remains at 8%.
    • Jasper County is adding a new 1% Transportation Tax, increasing the county’s Sales Tax rate to 9%.
    • Sumter County is adding a new 1% Capital Projects Tax, increasing the county’s Sales Tax rate to 8%.

Product Updates in This Release
The Help Menu is currently inaccessible within the application.
Users can provide a link to the new Help & Support portal to access all product-related assistance.
The Help menu has been updated to direct users to the Sales and Use Tax section of the ONESOURCE Help and Support portal in a new browser tab. Users can either use the "search" bar for specific content or click on "Browse all Content" to view the full list.
Earlier, users were unable to proceed with electronic filing for Canada GST/HST federal returns.
OSU can enhance the UI and provide content support for processing the returns for Canada federal filing.
Canada e-filing is now available in the OSU return register and under the e-filing menu.
California e-filing is not supported for all annual filing frequencies.
OSU can allow the user to file annually either by calendar period or fiscal period.
OSU now supports both annual filing frequencies for California. The user can choose the appropriate frequency by selecting the appropriate binder period type to meet their filing requirements.
UI enhancements
The Help menu is updated so that users can refer to the latest Help Document, which includes the release notes as a separate section.
Key Benefits:
Consistency in the navigation of help documents across TR products, aligning with the Help and Support site of TR.
Ledger updates
A new compute option, ‘Reset journal and force recompute,’ is added to the Compute options of Batch Processing functionality. This option, already available for binder-level compute, is now extended to Batch compute for all entities selected for that batch request.
Key Benefits:
Increased consistency in the user’s tax compliance journey between binder-level processing and batch-level processing.
E-Filing updates
Canada e-filing
- The e-filing screen is enhanced to accommodate electronic filing of the Canada GST/HST return. All references to States are changed to jurisdictions, and the source list of Jurisdictions is enhanced to display the full name of the Jurisdiction instead of region codes. This change applies to E-Filing through both binder actions and Batch Processing.
California E-filing
is enhanced to support annual filing for both frequencies Calendar, Fiscal. The users can chooseappropriate frequency by selecting the appropriate binder period while creating annual binders.
Key Benefits:
Increased flexibility for the users to choose appropriate filing period as determined by their annual filingrequirements.

Open issues

Virginia electronic filing
The Business Name is generating a blank value in the e-file when it contains apostrophes . As of the releaseof 25.05.1, this update is still being worked by the programing team. This will be corrected in a futurerelease.
There are two workarounds:
  1. Remove the apostrophe from the entity name.
  2. Manually enter the business name in the e-file before uploading files to the state's website.
Alabama, Town of Vincent police jurisdiction
We do not currently have this tax area available. It will be updated in a future release.

Closed issues

Colorado: Aspen
An issue that Aspen was not flowing to DR-100 has been addressed.
Tennessee Locals
The rate for the city of Pulaski in Giles County has been corrected from 3.000% to 2.750%.
Texas Locals
The rate for the Universal City/Guadalupe County District (6094604) has been corrected from 1.500%to 2.000%.
Virginia Locals
The sales rate for the Hampton Roads Regional Transportation District has been corrected to0.7000%.
