State notes

All changes noted here were incorporated into the applicable returns and accompanying schedules for that state or locale. Listed changes are effective August 1, 2025, unless noted otherwise.
Alabama Locals
  • Blountsville increased general sales and use tax rates from 2.000% to 4.000%.
  • Blountsville Police Jurisdiction increased general sales and use tax rates from 1.000% to 2.000%.
Alaska Locals
Remote Seller Tax had been added for the following:
  • The city and Borough of Wrangell remote seller tax cap changed from $3,000 to $5,000.
Vermont Locals
  • The City of Hartford, effective August 1st, 2025, increased the Local Option Tax rate by 1.000%.
Virginia Locals
  • The City of Norton, effective August 1st, 2025, is increasing its Meals Tax rate from 7.000% to 8.500%.
  • The City of Waynesboro, effective August 1st, 2025, is increasing its Meals Tax rate from 7.000% to 7.500%.

Closed issues

Kansas
  • The Kansas Consumer’s Compensating Use Tax Return (Form CT-10U) will now correctly report gross sales in the e-file.
  • The Kansas Retailer’s Compensating Use Tax Return (Form CT-10U) will now correctly report gross sales in the e-file.
Louisiana Locals
  • Bienville will no longer calculate the vendor compensation discount on line 19 of the tax form, as confirmed by the parish.
  • Ferriday in Concordia Parish will now calculate using the correct city rate of 1.500%.
  • East Carroll Parish will now calculate using the correct county rate of 5.000%.
  • Lafayette Parish columns T & U will no longer calculate the vendor compensation discount on line 19 of the tax form.
  • Saint Mary will no longer calculate the vendor compensation discount on line 19 of the form, as confirmed by the parish.
South Dakota
  • South Dakota suspended the Tax Collection Allowance Credit from 07/01/25 to 06/30/28. The system will no longer calculate credits/discount until the law is changed.
