Tax rate changes
All of the following tax rate changes were incorporated into the application. Listed changes are effective November 1, 2025, unless noted otherwise.
Alabama Locals
  • Elmore County republished their rates for the Enhance Elmore tax codes. The state did not publish the General Use rates when those rates changed in September 2025. The County officials confirmed that Use taxes were included in the Enhance Elmore news rates in September 2025 and they were included in our system at that time. The new publication reconfirms that those rates began in September. The one change to the Enhance Elmore rates that were made in September 2025 is the rate for Elmore County Enhance Elmore general use tax within the city limits of Wetumpka is now published at 1.5000% instead of 0.5000% and that has been adjusted in our system.
  • Lincoln increased the auto rental tax rates from 1.500% to 2.000 in the city and from 0.7500% to 1.000% in the police jurisdiction.
  • Tuscaloosa County (7063) increased general sales and use tax rates from 5.000% to 6.000%; Machinery and equipment sales and use tax rates from 1.8750% to 2.250%; and auto sales and use rates increased from 1.5000% to 1.8750%.
  • Tuscaloosa County (7163) increased general sales and use tax rates from 4.000% to 4.500%; Machinery and equipment sales and use tax rates from 1.500% to 1.5625%; and auto sales and use rates increased from 1.1250% to 1.3125%.
  • Special note on Tuscaloosa County – the grocery rates did not change. The grocery and general rates no longer match each other in the areas of the county that are unincorporated or a police jurisdiction. To accommodate this, Tuscaloosa County has published redesigned Returns to have separate lines for the general rates and the grocery rates. These were updated in our system.
