Alabama OneSpot setup

Businesses can file local returns for jurisdictions that have their own local returns or use Avenu/RDS to administer Sales and Use taxes on the state-wide Form 9501, City, and County Tax Return.
To turn on this OneSpot feature for your entity, follow these steps.
  1. Select
    2 | Register
    to open the return register in the entity.
  2. Expand the list of Alabama returns.
  3. Select the arrow next to each return name to move it to the Selected Returns section.
  4. Select all local jurisdictions that have their own return.
    1. For jurisdictions administered by Avenu/RDS, select the RDS return.
  5. Verify the administration type if you are unsure whether a jurisdiction is self-administered, state-administered, or Avenu/RDS administered.
    1. Visit Alabama’s tax rate website to find the latest information for each jurisdiction.
  6. Locate the OneSpot column in the Selected Returns section and select each return you want to include in the OneSpot return.
    1. Complete this step once per entity, for both state and local returns.

    Don't select both single and multiple locations for the same local return, or the jurisdiction will appear more than once on Form 9501.
  7. Go to

  8. Set the following options:
    1. Country
      : USA
    2. Admin Level
      : State
    3. State
      : Alabama
    4. Collector
      : Alabama
    5. Category
      : Electronic Filing
  9. Select
    LOAD
    .
  10. Mark the
    File Electronically using ONE SPOT
    checkbox in
    File Creation
    .
