User administration overview
important
Your administrator needs to create a user in the ONESOURCE Platform before granting access and permissions to Sales and Use Tax Compliance.
Authorize a user for Sales and Use Tax Compliance
After your administrator's added you as a user, they can also assign you permissions for Sales and Use Tax Compliance.
- In the system, go toTools,Administrative Tools, and thenUser Administration.
- SelectAuthorize, and thenSave. You'll receive one of the following messages:
- You have successfully updated the changes. This confirms you authorized the user successfully.
- Please navigate to the Users List to assign Global Permissions or Individual Permissions, which indicates you need to go to theUserstab and assign global or individual permissions to complete authorization.
Types of permissions
Permissions are either explicit or inherited.
- Explicit permission- An explicit permission is a permission that's granted or revoked for a specific workarea, entity, or chart. This permission can override other permissions, and once an explicit permission is assigned to a user for a particular object, Inherited and global permissions are no longer applicable to the user.
- Inherited permission- An inherited permission is a permission that's acquired by a specific entity or binder as a result of the associated workarea or entity, respectively.
