Add an account to chart of accounts

Each Chart of Accounts captures a set of accounts that can be mapped to a Classification with Account Groupings.
The Classification for a Chart of Accounts is established and cannot be modified. However, the Account Groupings are defined by each company and are universal across all Chart of Accounts. By mapping accounts in each Chart of Accounts to the Classification and Account Groupings, we will later be able to aggregate data in multiple Chart of Accounts together using those mappings.
  1. Go to
    ONESOURCE
    Administration
    Company Info
    Accounts
    .
  2. Select a chart link on either
    chart of accounts
     tab.
  3. Select
    Add Account
    .
  4. Enter an
    Account Code
    ,
    Account Name
    , and add optional
    Comments
    .
  5. Select
    Add
    . The account is created.
    1. Select
      Map Account
       to connect the account to a Classification. This is an optional step and can be done at a later time.
    2. Select
      Add Another
       to restart the
      Add Account
       workflow to create additional accounts.
  6. Select
    Finished
     if you don't need to map this account. This takes you back to the
    Charts of Accounts
     tab.
