About entities and entity rollup

Entities

Entities are a central administration platform for all ONESOURCE applications. It plays an important role in the core functionality of most ONESOURCE applications. Each application uses entities in different ways.
You can create, configure, and monitor entities in a single central location using the platform Entities. When you change an entity, it will reflect across all products like Data Hub, DataFlow, Calendar, Income Tax, and Tax Provision. You can also turn off an entity in 1 location.

Entity rollup

Entity Rollup is a central administration platform that gives a hierarchical view of the entities. Different entities connect to form a parent-child relationship (for example, level 1, level 2 and level 3).
You can create and configure Entity Rollup in 1 central location. When you change an Entity Rollup, it will reflect across products like ONESOURCE Data Hub. You can publish Entity Rollup changes and track and monitor all entity rollups in 1 place.

Once you publish the changes to an Entity Rollup, you can't update it again. To make further updates, you'll need to first unpublish the rollup, and then proceed with the changes. The platform supports a maximum of 3 levels of associations (for example, entity 1, entity 2, and entity 3).
