ONESOURCE Tax Provision

ONESOURCE Tax Provision now integrates with platform Entities. Administrators can create, maintain, and retire entities used across multiple ONESOURCE products, all in 1 central location.
If you want to use the Entities integration, contact your Customer Success Executive to enable this feature. Once you plan the migration, the Tax Provision team will migrate your existing entities to the platform.
note
You can only implement the Entities integration for the default instance in Tax Provision.

Migration process

All units populated within
Manage Units
will transfer to the platform Entities if they pass validation during the migration. The migration won't impact any existing data in Tax Provision.
note
If there is mismatched information after the migration between Tax Provision and platform Entities, contact the support team at OTPTeamOrion@thomsonreuters.com and copy MnRData-DEP-Team@thomsonreuters.com.
Prepare for the migration
  1. Contact your Customer Success Manager or Account Manager to enable Entities for your default instance.
    note
    This will enable
    Manage Entities
    on the
    Administration - Manage Units
screen in ONESOURCE Tax Provision at
    Administration
    ,
    Manage Units
    , then
    Units
    .
  2. Once your CSM enables the
    Manage Entities
feature, open a ticket to begin the migration process.
  3. Give the account name and ID, such as ABC or A1B (3-digit account ID). The Thomson Reuters tech team will begin the migration.
After the migration
  1. View all entities in
    ONESOURCE Administration
    ,
    Company Info
    , then
    Entities
    .
  2. View the migrated entity in ONESOURCE Tax Provision in
    Administration
    ,
    Manage Units
    , then
    Units
    .
note
The Administrator must have product permission to access Entities in
ONESOURCE Administration
,
Company Info
, then
Users
.

Tax Provision in ONESOURCE Events

  • You can only manage entities from the platform after the migration and once Tax Provision units are available there. The updates will flow to Tax Provision.
  • The latest entity with a
    Ready
status appears in the Tax Provision application.
  • The Tax Provision application validates any changes in entity or account details.

After an entity is associated with Tax Provision

Once you create an entity in platform Entities and associate it with ONESOURCE Tax Provision:
  • The entity permanently remains in both platform Entities and ONESOURCE Tax Provision.
  • Any changes you make in Entities to the
    Code
    ,
    Name
    ,
    Unit
    ,
    Country
    , and
    Currency
fields update in ONESOURCE Tax Provision.
  • The
    Country
    and
    Currency
fields in Entities remain the same even if you make changes in ONESOURCE Tax Provision.
  • You'll need to make changes manually or through the import feature.
