Copy a group

Copy an existing group to create a new, independent group with shared attributes. Reduce setup effort and maintain consistency across groups.
To copy a group, you need both
View
and
Edit
permissions for Groups. Full access administrators can copy groups by default.
You can copy a single existing group to create a new, independent group.
  1. Go to
    Administration
    Groups
    .
  2. Select a single group to use as your source, then select
    Copy Group
    .
  3. Enter a name for the new group.
  4. Select the attributes you want to copy to the new group.
    • Client Assignments
    • User Assignments
    • Product Permissions
    • Product Assignments
    important
    For Client Manager-enabled products, you also need to select
    Client Assignments
    when copying
    Product Permissions
    .
  5. Select
    Copy Group
    to confirm.
    The copy operation runs as a background process. You can monitor progress, completion status, and any errors in the
    New Notifications Queue
    .
  • When the copy operation completes successfully, the new group becomes available for editing.
  • After the copy operation completes, changes made to the source group don't affect the new group.
  • If the operation fails, the system performs a full rollback and doesn't create a partial group.
