Multi-factor authentication

Thomson Reuters uses multi-factor authentication to check your identity and help make sure your account isn't compromised. It also adds another layer of protection so your account safety relies on more than a simple password.
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure requiring a combination of two or more methods to verify your identity, such as a passphrase or a fingerprint, so you can access online accounts and systems. You can access our products safely and securely using the methods listed below.
  • Valid ONESOURCE username and password.
  • Use a device with MFA installed.
note
MFA supports iOS or Android devices with a camera. The app is free on the Apple App Store and on Google Play for Android.

Importance of multi-factor authentication

Passwords are becoming increasingly easy to compromise. They can be stolen, “phished,” guessed, and hacked. New technology and hacking techniques combined with the limited pool of passwords most people use for multiple accounts increases vulnerability. Thomson Reuters MFA gives you an additional layer of security to help insulate your organization against potential cyberattacks.

Multi-factor authentication with single sign-on

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is not available for accounts with single sign-on enabled. A company decides which one to use at the customer Account level, which means all the users of a company use the same setup.
