Account mapping

There are 2 types of single sign-on (SSO) - Account Linking and Account Mapping. The type of SSO used depends on the Thomson Reuters applications that you use. The Thomson Reuters SSO team will inform you as to what type of SSO you can use.
For account mapping, the system automatically maps a user's corporate network sign-in ID with a corresponding Thomson Reuters application sign-in ID. The system uses unique attributes such as network ID, employee ID, and email. For account mapping, the benefits for users are that they don’t see the sign-in screen for the application.
To do this, the Thomson Reuters single sign-on solution retrieves the subject or attribute data passed in the SAML assertion and sends it to the Thomson Reuters application. The application then searches for the application profile based on this setup.
Some Thomson Reuters applications can automatically create new users from the SAML assertion. In contrast, others need an administrator to set up users in the Thomson Reuters application beforehand, prior to trying single sign-on.
This single sign-on ID links to the Universal ID automatically during the single sign-on process. The TRTA single sign-on team manages account mapping. The administrator must turn on single sign-on on the Setup page before contacting the TRTA team for account mapping. Contact TRTA single sign-on at customer.sso@thomsonreuters.com. The TRTA single sign-on team will turn on single sign-on mapping for your account.
note
Setting up Account Mapping is not done at a single user level. It is done according to your organization's decision and by system administrators at customer account levels. All the users of a company use the same settings unless excluded.
