Pennsylvania: W-2s Reporting Local Information; 1099-MISCs and 1099-Rs where the Recipient Lives in Philadelphia
Beginning with tax year 2012, Pennsylvania consolidated local filing requirements from over 3,000 separate localities to 69 Tax Collection Districts. Most of these filings are satisfied with a paper listing. The remaining Tax Collection Districts are consolidated into a single electronic filing to the Berkheimer Tax Administrator in Pennsylvania. To further simplify reporting, non-Berkheimer localities (other than Philadelphia) may be submitted through the Berkheimer agency, provided that the reporting is for EIT and that the employer submit a notice of intention to the Berkheimer agency. The letter needs to include company name, FEIN, Contact name and phone number, the TCD to be filed with, and a list of all jurisdictions in the combined filing along with any Berkheimer Account Numbers. The letter can be faxed to 610-588-5765 ATTN: CCD-EIT. A confirmation will not be sent to payers submitting a letter of intent.
