Processing Amended Forms 990, 990-EZ, 990-PF, 990-T and 4270

To amend Forms 990, 990-EZ, 990-PF, 990-T and 4270:
  1. Mark the return as amended. Marking the return checks the AMENDED box in the heading section of the form. To mark the return as amended, select the
    Amended Return
    check box under the
    Account
    collapsible section on the Account Information page, then select
    Save
    .
  2. Amend the source data. The source data may consist of basic account information, recipient information or information specific to the 990 return type. The tasks you used for reviewing and entering the information reported on the original return can be used to amend the source data. See the appropriate 990 topics for details.
  3. Reprocess the return. Reprocessing the return generates the amended 990 return type. See Processing 990 Accounts for details.
  4. File the amended return with the appropriate taxing authority. See Filing 990 Return Types and Remitting Balance Due Payments for details.
