Set PAN level options for federal and state e-file and balance due payments

Several options on the Options and Overrides page provide e-file and balance due payment information for your entire PAN or SuperBank association. Most options are set the 1st time you use ONESOURCE Trust Tax to EFile federal and/or state returns and remit balance due payments and are then reviewed each subsequent year to ensure they are set correctly.
note
The state balance due payment information for each account is applied when the tax return is processed. Because of this, you must enter the settlement date and review (and update) the ACH Debit Instructions each year before the tax return is processed. If the settlement date and/or ACH Debit Instructions are updated after tax return processing completes, then the return must be reprocessed to apply the updates.
note
Each year, you must update the settlement date to a date in the current year. If the
Settlement date for state balance due payments (Does not apply to MI and RI before 2023, or MO for all years) [Date entered must have a four character year, i.e., MM-DD-YYYY]
and
Settlement date for 990 state balance due payments (Date entered must have a four-character year, i.e. MM-DD-YYYY) (beginning Tax year 2021)
Electronic Filing options don’t include a current year date, then the date in the state e-file records will be revised automatically to the current year and month. The day will remain the same, which may result in an invalid settlement date if the date falls on a weekend or a legal holiday.
The state of Hawaii doesn’t rely on a settlement date but rather takes the amounts from the ACH account at the time the tax returns are filed.

Set options for federal and State balance due payments

note
The state balance due payment information for each account is applied when the tax return is processed. Because of this, you must enter the settlement date and review (and update) the ACH Debit Instructions each year before the tax returns are processed. If the settlement date and/or ACH Debit Instructions are updated after tax return processing completes then the return must be reprocessed to apply the updates.
note
Each year, you must update the settlement date to a date in the current year. If the

and

Electronic Filing options don’t include a current year date, then the date in the state e-file records will be revised automatically to the current year and month. The day will remain the same, which may result in an invalid settlement date if the date falls on a weekend or a legal holiday.
