Setting Filing Options

The Filing options page is used to authorize ONESOURCE Trust Tax to submit your information returns to the IRS, indicate participation in the IRS CFS program, and enter state transmitter information. To access the Filing Options page, select

Authorizing ONESOURCE Trust Tax to Submit Your Information Returns to the IRS

Each year, you must authorize ONESOURCE Trust Tax to submit your information returns to the IRS for you. If you do not, you will not be able to prepare 1099 data and your 1099 data files will not be submitted to the IRS.
To authorize ONESOURCE Trust Tax to submit your information returns to the IRS for you:
  1. Under the
    Authorizations
    collapsible section on the Filing page, select the
    AUTHORIZE submission of 1098, 1099 and 5498 Electronic Filing to IRS (Federal)
    check box.
  2. Select
    Save
    .

Indicating Participation in the IRS' Combined Federal/State Filing Program for States with a Direct Filing Requirement

A state can have a direct filing requirement even if the state participates in the IRS CFS program.
To indicate participation in the IRS' Combined Federal/State Filing (CF/SF) Program for states with a direct filing requirement:
  1. Under the
    State Direct Files
    collapsible section on the Filing page, select the
    Participate in the Combined Federal State Filing program for recipients with the following resident state designations
    check box. After selection, the state check boxes in the grid below the
    Participate in the Combined Federal State Filing program for recipients with the following resident state designations
    check box become available. The CFS program uses the recipient's resident state. If a transaction is a paid to or paid by transaction, then the state shown in the
    Resident State
    field on the recipient's Recipient Information page is used.
  2. Select
    Save
    .

Entering State Transmitter Information

State transmitter information is required for direct state filing and filing through the IRS CFS program. You must enter state transmitter information when the
Participate in the Combined Federal State Filing program for recipients with the following resident state designations
check box is selected under the
State Direct Files
collapsible section.
To enter state transmitter information:
  1. Open the
    State Transmitter
    collapsible section on the Filing page.
  2. Enter the transmitter, company and contact information in the appropriate fields.
  3. Select
    Save
    .
