Processing 5227 Returns
You can request to process 5227 tax returns from a register or the account binder. Processing from a register allows you to select one, some, or all of the accounts in the register to process. Submitting a 5227 tax return processing request generates the federal and state 5227 return, applicable related federal filings, supporting detail, and state Attorney General filing.
note
For CLTs and PIFs, you need to submit two separate tax return processing requests: one to process the Form 5227, and one to process the Form 1041. When processing the Form 1041, you can process the federal and state return together or process them separately.
Processing requests generate a tax return print file, which can be printed locally. If you want to print and bulk ship your 5227 tax returns to you, you can indicate the bulk ship print method while you are submitting your processing request or you can submit a subsequent print request after processing. For CRATs and CRUTs, you can use Mail Service to print and ship the recipient package directly to the income recipients.
