Preferred Stock Indicator
This field is used to determine the required holding period for qualified assets. It is not used to signify whether an asset is qualified or not qualified. Refer to the "Asset Not Qualified Flag" to indicate the qualification status of an asset.
  • Blank = If you can't determine whether this asset is required to meet the 60-day, or 90-day, holding test necessary to use the reduced dividend tax rate on dividends paid.
  • 0 = Asset is required to meet the 60-day holding test necessary to use the reduced dividend tax rate on dividends paid.
  • 1 = Asset is required to meet the 90-day holding test necessary to use the reduced dividend tax rate on dividends paid.
The ONESOURCE Trust Tax Load program will bypass this field when it is left blank; therefore, no change will be made to any previously loaded value for this asset. For example, if the value is set to
1
in 1 month and subsequently set to blank in a later month, the ONESOURCE Trust Tax Load program will bypass this field and the value in the ONESOURCE Trust Tax database will remain set to
1
.
If this field is left blank and a value of '0' or '1' is never received, the ONESOURCE Trust Tax system default is to treat the asset as qualified to use the reduced dividend tax rate on dividends paid provided the asset meets the 60-day holding period test.
