Tax code mapping

Tax code mapping translates transaction types and tax codes from a Trust Accounting System into ONESOURCE Trust Tax equivalents. This is done either through vendor-maintained mapping in the bridge file or client-controlled mapping tables within ONESOURCE for greater flexibility.

Method 1

The translation occurs when you extract the tax bridge program. Using this method, the application reads the load fields (called OTT Tax Code
, or TC, and Trust System Transaction Type
, or TT) and adds them to the application without translation.

You maintain the mapping table in the vendor system.

Method 2

Each ONESOURCE Trust Tax database uses a tax code mapping table to translate your accounting system's values in the bridge file to ONESOURCE. The client controls the tables' contents.

The application uses the Trust Accounting Vendor Tax Treatment Code
to assign the Tax Code
and Transaction Type
. You'll get greater flexibility with this method because you can map a single trust system tax code to different OTT Tax Codes
.
