Printing 65 Day Election Letters

After processing completes, a 65 Day Election Letter print file for each irrevocable account included in the processing request is available in the
Document: Tax Return Projections
folder on the account binder's Documents page. You can print 65 Day Election Letters on an account-by-account basis from the account binder, or you can use a register to create a print file that includes 65 Day Election Letters for multiple accounts.

65 Day Election Letters must be printed locally. Bulk shipping is unavailable for 65 Day Election Letters.

Printing from a Register

You can print 65 Day Election Letters from:
  • Any register that includes a list of accounts but does not identify a particular document type. An example of this register is the
    Active Accounts
    base register.
  • A custom register that identifies only those irrevocable accounts a 65 Day Election Letter was processed for.
Creating a Custom Register
To create a custom register that identifies only those irrevocable accounts a 65 Day Election Letter was processed for:
  1. From the Register Listing page, select Modify Register Properties for the
    Print Prepared But Not Printed
    register.
  2. Open the
    Information
    collapsible section.
  3. Change the name in the
    Register Name
    field to the name for your custom register. You can change the information in any of the other fields listed under the
    Information
    collapsible section.
  4. Select the register scope from the
    Scope
    drop-down list.
  5. Select
    Save As
    . The Register Properties page for your custom register displays.
  6. Open the
    Detail Filter(s)
    collapsible section.
  7. Add the filters shown in the following table:

    And
    Document
    Equal to
    Tax Return Projection
    User Value
    And
    Doc Option
    Equal to
    65-Day Election Letter

  9. Your
    Detail Filter(s)
    collapsible section will look similar to the following after you finish adding the filters:
  10. To add a filter, select the condition from the
    Condition
    drop-down list in the row that includes the text, "Please select here to add new row." Select the column value from the first
    Column
    drop-down list, then select the operator from the
    Operator
    drop-down list. Review the
    Value Type
    drop-down list to ensure
    User Value
    is selected. Press TAB until you move off of the row.
  11. Select
    Save
    .
  12. To return to the Register Listing page, select
    REGISTERS
    .
Submitting a Print Request from a Register
To submit a print request from a register:
  1. From the Register Listing page, select Run for the register that includes the irrevocable accounts you want to print 65 Day Election Letters for.
  2. Select the check box in the first column for each account you want to print. If you want to select all of the accounts in the register, do not select any check boxes.
  3. The following graphic shows that the check boxes for two accounts are selected:

    Print
    from the
    Register Action
    drop-down list.
  5. The Print pop-up window displays.
  6. Select
    Tax Return Projection
    from the
    Request
    drop-down list.
  7. Select
    65 day election
    from the
    Document Option
    drop-down list.
  8. If you want more than one copy of the 65 Day Election Letter for each account, use the
    Copies
    drop-down list to select the number that represents the number of copies you want. For example, if you want three copies of the letter for each account, select
    3
    from the
    Copies
    drop-down list. The
    Default Set
    selection generates one copy of the 65 Day Election Letter for each account.
  9. Under the
    Print Locally
    group box, review the
    Combine documents into a PDF
    option to ensure it is selected.
  10. Select
    Submit
    . You can now monitor the batch using the
    Current Requests
    collapsible section on the Request Status and History page. To access this page from a register, select
    Request Status and History
    from the
    Register Action
    drop-down list. If you are no longer working in a register, select
    HOME
    then
    Admin
    .
  11. After processing completes, open the
    Request History
    collapsible section on the Request Status and History page.
  12. Select the
    File Name
    link.
  13. Select
    Open
    to display the 65 Day Election Letter in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  14. Use Adobe Acrobat Reader to print the 65 Day Election Letter.
  15. Select
    Close
    to return to ONESOURCE Trust Tax.

Printing from the Account Binder

To print a 65 Day Election Letter print file from the account binder:
  1. Open the account.
  2. Select the
    Documents
    main topic.
  3. Complete the following, if necessary:
    1. Select the + sign for the tax year that contains the 65 Day Election Letter print file you want to print.
    2. Select the + sign for the
      Document: Tax Return Projection
      category.
  4. Select the
    Tax Return Projection
    link in the
    Recipient
    column for the
    65-Day Election Letter
    row.
  5. Select
    Open
    to display the 65 Day Election Letter in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  6. Use Adobe Acrobat Reader to print the 65 Day Election Letter.
  7. Select
    Close
    to return to ONESOURCE Trust Tax.
