Printing 65 Day Election Letters
After processing completes, a 65 Day Election Letter print file for each irrevocable account included in the processing request is available in the
Document: Tax Return Projections
folder on the account binder's Documents page. You can print 65 Day Election Letters on an account-by-account basis from the account binder, or you can use a register to create a print file that includes 65 Day Election Letters for multiple accounts.note
65 Day Election Letters must be printed locally. Bulk shipping is unavailable for 65 Day Election Letters.
Printing from a Register
You can print 65 Day Election Letters from:
- Any register that includes a list of accounts but does not identify a particular document type. An example of this register is theActive Accountsbase register.
- A custom register that identifies only those irrevocable accounts a 65 Day Election Letter was processed for.
Creating a Custom Register
To create a custom register that identifies only those irrevocable accounts a 65 Day Election Letter was processed for:
- From the Register Listing page, select Modify Register Properties for thePrint Prepared But Not Printedregister.
- Open theInformationcollapsible section.
- Change the name in theRegister Namefield to the name for your custom register. You can change the information in any of the other fields listed under theInformationcollapsible section.
- Select the register scope from theScopedrop-down list.
- SelectSave As. The Register Properties page for your custom register displays.
- Open theDetail Filter(s)collapsible section.
- Add the filters shown in the following table:
- Condition(ColumnOperatorColumnValueValue TypeAndDocumentEqual toTax Return ProjectionUser ValueAndDoc OptionEqual to65-Day Election LetterUser Value
- YourDetail Filter(s)collapsible section will look similar to the following after you finish adding the filters:
- To add a filter, select the condition from theConditiondrop-down list in the row that includes the text, "Please select here to add new row." Select the column value from the firstColumndrop-down list, then select the operator from theOperatordrop-down list. Review theValue Typedrop-down list to ensureUser Valueis selected. Press TAB until you move off of the row.
- SelectSave.
- To return to the Register Listing page, selectREGISTERS.
Submitting a Print Request from a Register
To submit a print request from a register:
- From the Register Listing page, select Run for the register that includes the irrevocable accounts you want to print 65 Day Election Letters for.
- Select the check box in the first column for each account you want to print. If you want to select all of the accounts in the register, do not select any check boxes.
- The following graphic shows that the check boxes for two accounts are selected:
- SelectPrintfrom theRegister Actiondrop-down list.
- The Print pop-up window displays.
- SelectTax Return Projectionfrom theRequestdrop-down list.
- Select65 day electionfrom theDocument Optiondrop-down list.
- If you want more than one copy of the 65 Day Election Letter for each account, use theCopiesdrop-down list to select the number that represents the number of copies you want. For example, if you want three copies of the letter for each account, select3from theCopiesdrop-down list. TheDefault Setselection generates one copy of the 65 Day Election Letter for each account.
- Under thePrint Locallygroup box, review theCombine documents into a PDFoption to ensure it is selected.
- SelectSubmit. You can now monitor the batch using theCurrent Requestscollapsible section on the Request Status and History page. To access this page from a register, selectRequest Status and Historyfrom theRegister Actiondrop-down list. If you are no longer working in a register, selectHOMEthenAdmin.
- After processing completes, open theRequest Historycollapsible section on the Request Status and History page.
- Select theFile Namelink.
- SelectOpento display the 65 Day Election Letter in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Use Adobe Acrobat Reader to print the 65 Day Election Letter.
- SelectCloseto return to ONESOURCE Trust Tax.
Printing from the Account Binder
To print a 65 Day Election Letter print file from the account binder:
- Open the account.
- Select theDocumentsmain topic.
- Complete the following, if necessary:
- Select the + sign for the tax year that contains the 65 Day Election Letter print file you want to print.
- Select the + sign for theDocument: Tax Return Projectioncategory.
- Select theTax Return Projectionlink in theRecipientcolumn for the65-Day Election Letterrow.
- SelectOpento display the 65 Day Election Letter in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Use Adobe Acrobat Reader to print the 65 Day Election Letter.
- SelectCloseto return to ONESOURCE Trust Tax.
