Using the OFX Delivery Service

ONESOURCE Trust Tax offers the OFX Delivery service so recipients can import 1099 and/or 1098 data directly into H&R Block Tax Software or Intuit TurboTax. The forms supported by H&R Block Tax Software include:
  • 1099-B
  • 1099-DIV
  • 1099-INT
  • 1099-OID
  • 1099-NEC
  • 1099-R
The forms supported by TurboTax include:
  • 1099-B
  • 1099-DIV
  • 1099-INT
  • 1099-OID
  • 1099-MISC
  • 1099-NEC
  • 1099-R
  • 1098
In ONESOURCE Trust Tax, you control when recipients can import their data with a custom milestone. In each recipient package, a tracking ID prints at the bottom of the first page of the 1099 Tax Information Statement. The tracking ID is used to import the data into H&R Block Tax Software or TurboTax.
note
You must obtain a license to use the OFX Delivery service before recipients can retrieve their documents. Contact your Client Manager if you are interested in licensing the OFX Delivery service.

Customizing the Import Page

After licensing the OFX Delivery service, you will need to work with your Client Manager to customize the import page so that your information is shown to recipients when they use H&R Block Tax Software or TurboTax to import their data.

Setting Up a Custom Milestone

To set up a custom milestone:
  1. Select
    SETUP
    ,
    Customize
    then
    Milestones
    .
  2. Add a milestone or select an existing milestone.
  3. Select the
    Ready for OFX
check box for the milestone. The following graphic shows that the
    Ready for OFX
check box is selected for Milestone 5.
  4. Select
    Save
    .

Marking an Account Ready for OFX Delivery

After an account is marked ready for OFX Delivery, recipients are allowed to import their data into H&R Block Tax Software or TurboTax. To mark an account ready for OFX Delivery:
  1. Open the account you want to mark as ready for OFX Delivery.
  2. Select the
    Tracking
    subtopic.
  3. Under the
    Status and Milestones
collapsible section, select the 1099 document type to mark as ready for OFX Delivery from the
    Type of return
    drop-down list.
  4. Under the
    Account Tracking
    collapsible section, select the
    Done
check box for the custom milestone that was set up for OFX Delivery.
  5. Select
    Save
    .
Recipients can now import their data into H&R Block Tax Software or TurboTax using the tracking ID that prints at the bottom of the first page of the Tax Information Statement. The tracking ID prints in each recipient package regardless of whether the OFX Delivery service is licensed. There is no option to suppress the tracking ID, and the tracking ID does not print on projections.
note
To retrieve their documents, recipients must correctly enter the tracking ID and must enter their SSNs without hyphens.
