About Options and Overrides
Options and overrides define how ONESOURCE Trust Tax handles your accounts. Specifically, they define:
- How your tax data is managed.
- How amounts reported on your tax returns, worksheets and tax reports are calculated.
- How specific information is presented.
Some options and overrides affect the way your tax returns are computed and printed for every year you use ONESOURCE Trust Tax. Others affect only the tax year you are working with plus any subsequent tax years.
You can set options and overrides at different levels. The following list describes each level:
- SuperBank Options and Overrides-Available only if your PAN is in a SuperBank association. They affect all of the accounts in each PAN in the SuperBank association. To correctly set or update options and overrides for a PAN that is in a SuperBank association, set or update the SuperBank level first then, if a different value is required for one or more PANs, set or update the PAN level for each PAN in the SuperBank association.
- PAN Options and Overrides-Affects all of the accounts in the PAN you are logged in to.
- Account Group Options and Overrides-Allows overrides to Fiduciary Info options for a selected group of accounts within a PAN. The group of accounts can be identified using fields (such as a sub-id or preparer code).
- Account overrides-Affects only the account the options and overrides are set for. This allows you to indicate that you want ONESOURCE Trust Tax to handle an individual account in a way that is different from the other accounts included in the PAN or SuperBank association. If a SuperBank or PAN level option cannot be changed at the account level, it is unavailable on the account level Options and Overrides page.
- Bulk overrides-Allows you to perform a global change to update the account level overrides for a group of accounts.
ONESOURCE Trust Tax uses the following order to evaluate your Options and Overrides:
- Account overrides (including bulk overrides).
- Account group overrides.
- PAN overrides.
- SuperBank overrides.
- PAN defaults.
