Client Dashboard

Use the Client Dashboard to manage client information, edit projects (and tasks if applicable), and access billing information. Select
Client Dashboard
at the beginning of the screen (or
Client Dashboard
on the menu bar) and then select a client from the field at the top of the dashboard.
note
  • If you open a timer or to open the Documents area, the client you selected on the Client Dashboard will also be selected in the timer or in the Documents area.
  • The dashboard contains various widgets that are grouped by category.

Client Information

  • Client
    — Shows the selected client's primary email address, mailing address, phone number, and status. Select Edit to open the client setup screen and make any changes.
  • Client Comments
    — Add comments about the selected client. Comments added here are automatically added to the Comments field in the General tab of the client's setup screen.
  • Staff Assignments
    — Shows any staff who have been assigned to the selected client as partner, manager, or associate
  • Contacts
    — Shows selected contacts who have relationships with the client: tax matters contact, preferred contact, billing contact, and/or spouse
  • Projects and Tasks
    — Shows the client's projects (and tasks, if your firm is licensed for Onvio Firm Management Advanced).
  • Custom Fields
    - Shows the selected client's custom fields. Select
    Edit
    to open the client setup screen and make any changes.

Time and Billing

Widgets in this section feature graphs that show how the data compares to the previous year and to other clients.
  • WIP Recap
    — A recap of WIP activity for the time period you specify, including beginning WIP balance, production, billing, adjustments, progress bills, and ending WIP balance.
  • A/R Recap
    — A recap of accounts receivable activity for the time period you specify.
  • Agings
    — WIP and accounts receivable aging, in either table or graph format.
  • Key Totals
    — Production, adjustment, invoice, realization, and collection totals for the period to date, prior year period to date, year to date, and prior year to date, in either table or graph format.
  • Prior Invoices
    — All of the selected client's prior invoices for the time period you specify; includes links to view the invoice, view billable entries, edit the invoice, and download the invoice or send it to the Documents area.
  • A/R Open Items
    — Open accounts receivable items for the selected client; includes links to view the invoice, view billable entries, view applied amounts, edit the invoice, and download the invoice or send it to the Documents area.
Customize the Client Dashboard
You can customize the Client Dashboard by reordering the dashboard sections and rearranging or hiding widgets.

These changes are user specific and won’t be seen by other staff.
To customize your view, select
Edit
to turn on an edit mode. Then select and drag items to rearrange them, or select
Options
on a widget and choose
Hide
to hide it.
Hidden widgets are represented by buttons placed at the end of the dashboard section. For example, the
Show Staff Assignments
Show Staff Assignments button represents the Staff Assignments widget, when hidden.
To reorder dashboard sections, select and drag a section heading to a new position. Select
Hide
to hide an entire section from the dashboard.
When you are finished customizing your dashboard, select
Done
Done.
