Delete staff members

If you have permissions, you can remove staff from Onvio or select them as inactive.

Before you begin

You can't delete staff if they are attached to other information, such as time and billing entries. In that case, we recommend you mark the staff member as inactive.
An inactive staff member doesn't have Onvio access and can't be assigned to future projects, tasks, or bills. Marking a staff member inactive doesn’t remove the staff member from any of their current assignments.
After deleting or marking a staff member as inactive, your firm's administrator will also want to remove the user from

Delete staff from Onvio

  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    Staff
    in Onvio Center.
  2. Select the staff member.
  3. Select
    Delete
    .

Mark staff as inactive

  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    Staff
    in Onvio Center.
  2. Select the staff member and select
    Edit
    .
  3. Select
    Inactive
    on the
    General
    tab and enter a left date.
  4. Save your changes.

  • Changing the status back to active doesn’t restore Onvio access to the staff member — you'll need to turn on Onvio access manually.
  • Making a staff member inactive won't prevent billing charges. You also have to enter a left date on the General tab, turn off Onvio Center, and confirm the staff member is not in any permissions groups.

Remove staff from
My Account

  1. Sign in to
    My Account
    .
  2. Select
    Manage Accounts
    .
    note
    Only a firm administrator can access Manage Accounts to add, modify, or delete staff.
  3. Select the staff member.
  4. Select
    Delete Selected
    .

Instead of deleting the user you can:
  • Modify
    the staff member and change their Permissions to
  • Web Only
    This will limit the staff member's access.
