You can sync existing client and contact information from UltraTax CS to Onvio using Onvio Link. With this, you can update and complete clients in UltraTax CS and automatically update their Onvio files at the same time.
Before you begin
Make sure you're assigned to a permission group that has Onvio Setup enabled.
Install Onvio Link on your computer.
Export clients from UltraTax CS
Go to
Utilities in UltraTax CS
.
Select
Onvio
then
Integration
.
Use
Select
or
Select All
to select which clients to export.
Mark the fields in the Options section for Onvio:
Populate Onvio clients and contacts.
This will add contact information to Onvio for clients and contacts.
Create Onvio project for UltraTax CS client
. This will create a tax project for these clients in Onvio.
Turn on Client Tax Center and send a registration email.
The registration email invites the taxpayer for individual returns and the tax matters contact for business returns to register for Onvio Client Center.
Request Documents from the client.
Send an email to the taxpayer or tax matters contact to request documents for the returns. You can add a due date and a description of the requested documents.

Open Onvio Link on your computer and sign in.
Select
Settings
.
In the
Datasharing
tab, make sure the data location for UltraTax CS is correct. If you need to make changes, select
Modify Location
.

This location should reference your WinCSI\UTYYData folder, where YY is the year of UltraTax CS. For example, C:\WinCSI\UT20Data.
Mark the
Enable Data Sharing
checkbox and select
Yes
to verify. This will build the data sharing connection between UltraTax CS and Onvio for the clients you selected for export. It may take several minutes depending on the number and size of the selected clients.
Select
OK
to close Onvio Link.

If you add new clients to UltraTax CS, they’ll be added to Onvio as contacts.
