Upload price lists

Uploading price lists lets you efficiently add new values or update existing ones in bulk. It's very important you follow the correct file format.
  1. Create or edit a tab-delimited TXT containing your price list values.
    • It's important that the file adheres to the exact format of a downloaded values file, including the header row and the correct column order and data types.
    • Make sure there are no extra spaces or characters. Each column should be separated by a single tab.
  2. From the main
    Price lists
view, select or search for the specific price list where you want to upload values.
  3. Select the price list entry to open its details page.
  4. Find the
    Manage values
    section.
  5. Select the dropdown arrow within the
    Manage values
    field.
  6. From the dropdown, select
    Upload values
    .
  7. A file explorer window appears. Go to the location of your TXT, select it, and then select
    Open
    .
  8. Depending on the system's configuration, you may see a preview of the data or a confirmation prompt before the upload is finalized. Review carefully.
  9. The system will process the upload. You should receive a confirmation message upon successful completion, or an error message if issues were detected.
Important considerations for uploading
  • File Format
: The file needs to be a tab-delimited .TXT file. Using other formats (like .csv with commas or Excel files directly) will likely cause errors.
  • Header Row
: The 1st row of your file needs to exactly match the header row of a downloaded values file. Don't alter column names or add/remove columns unless explicitly instructed.
  • Data Consistency
: Make sure the data types and formats within each column are consistent (for example, all ZIP Codes in the correct format).
  • Overwriting/Updating
: Understand how the upload process handles existing data. Does it replace all existing values, update matching entries, or add new ones? (This detail would need to be verified by system behavior, but it's a good point for you to consider.)
  • Error Handling
: If the upload fails, carefully read any error messages provided. These messages often indicate specific lines or data points that caused the issue.
