Keyboard shortcuts

Some of the most commonly used commands, such as
Open Plan
 or
Print
, are assigned keyboard shortcuts you can use to run the command directly from the keyboard without opening the dropdown.
Refer to the following table for a list of shortcuts in the application:
Key Combination
Result in Data Entry
ALT+F4
Closes the open window. If no window is open, closes Planner CS.
ALT+(underlined letter)
Go to a field or the activate button.
CTRL+A
Copy the amount from the current field to the subsequent fields in that row within the alternative.
CTRL+B
Open the
Backup/Check Out
 screen where you can archive a client's data or check it out.
CTRL+D
Open the
Delete Plan
 screen where you can choose the plan you want to delete.
CTRL+E
Copy the amount from the current field to the same field and year in subsequent alternatives.
CTRL+F
Open the
Find Field
 screen you can use to find a specific field in the main data-entry window.
CTRL+L
Copy the amount from the current field to the same field in all subsequent columns.
CTRL+M
Opens the
Select Module
 window where you select which tax authority data module you want to view for the open plan.
CTRL+N
Open the
New Plan
 screen where you can enter information for a new plan.
CTRL+O
Open the
Open Plan
 screen where you can select a plan for processing.
CTRL+P
Open the
Print Reports
 screen.
CTRL+HOME
Go to the first field of any tab.
CTRL+END
Go to the last field of any tab.
CTRL+PAGE DOWN
Move to the previous property in
Activities
.
CTRL+PAGE UP
Move to the next property in
Activities
.
CTRL+R
Open the
Print Forms
 screen where you can print Form 1040-ES.
CTRL+S
Save the open plan's data.
CTRL+T
Switch the automatic calculation feature on or off. Turning the calculation feature off improves data entry speed in large plans or on computers with slower processors.
CTRL+TAB
Go to the next tab in the screen.
CTRL+SHIFT+TAB
Go to the previous tab in the screen.
CTRL+Y
Open the Help and Support center (from the Planner CS homepage or the main data-entry window) to access extensive information about using Planner CS.
F1
View help about a specific data-entry field in the main window (the cursor must be in that data-entry field when pressing F1) or open the Help and Support to view information about the current screen and access extensive information about using Planner CS.
F7
Open the pop-up calculator while in any numerical field.
F9
Move to the previous data entry field.
F10
Move to the next data entry field.
F11
Move to the next button in the main data-entry window.
SHIFT+F11
Move to the previous button in the main data-entry window.
F12
Move to the next tab in the main data-entry window.
SHIFT+F12
Move to the previous tab in the main data-entry window.
SHIFT+TAB
Move to the previous field or button in the data-entry window.
