This user bulletin describes changes made to this release of Planner CS® South Carolina.
What's changed
Taxable income
Beginning with tax year 2026, the starting point for the calculation of South Carolina taxable income will be federal Adjusted Gross Income. A new South Carolina Income Adjusted Deduction has been added in place of federal standard / itemized deductions.
Tax brackets
South Carolina income tax brackets are updated for tax year 2026, with the top rate reduced to 5.21%.
Earned income tax credit
For tax years 2026 and later, the South Carolina earned income tax credit is limited to a maximum of $200.
