Layout Designer

Row

Use this tab of the Layout Designer window to modify the size and width of rows and columns in the reports, to indicate whether to include rows with zero amounts, and to add shading and line effects.
To open this window, select
Reports
, then
Report Layouts
, then the
Row
tab.
note
To enable the fields in this window, select a layout in the list and then
Edit
or select
Add
to add a new layout.

Fields & buttons

Data row group field

Font
This field displays the selected font. To change the font, select
Font.
Size
This field displays the point size for the selected font. To change the point size, either enter the size in this field or select
Font.
note
You can't change the font size when the <System> or <Tax Projection> layout is selected.
Font button
Select this button to open a window in which you can change fonts, font styles, sizes, and effects.

Column widths (inch) group field

note
You can't edit these options when the <System> or <Tax Projection> layout is selected.
Title
Enter the width of the column titles in inches.
Column
Enter the width of the columns in inches.
Between
Enter the width of the space between columns in inches.

Show negative as group field

-100/(100)
Select an option to specify how you want negative amounts to appear on reports.

Gray scales group field

Line 1
Enter a value for the percentage of gray to appear for the even rows in the report. Used together with Line 2, the gray bars make viewing the report easier by providing guidelines for each row. The value can range from 0 (no gray) to 100 (black).

This effect will only be visible if the
Gray bar
 checkbox is marked.
Line 2
Enter a value for the percentage of gray to appear for the odd rows in the report. Used together with Line 1, the gray bars make viewing the report easier by providing guidelines for each row. The value can range from 0 (no gray) to 100 (black).

Preferences group field

Print empty rows.
Select this option to include rows with zero amounts.
note
This option is not available when the <Tax Projection> layout is selected.
Show $
Select this option to have dollar signs printed with monetary figures in the report.
Gray bar
Select this option to have rows in the report print as a gray bar.

Row section (inches) group field

Left, Top, Right, Bottom
Enter values (in inches) in the available fields to specify the amount of space that should appear around each row.
note
You can't change these options when the <System> or <Tax Projection> layout is selected.

Tabs in this tab

Subtotal line effects, Total line effects, and Title line effects.
Each tab contains options for applying effects to the corresponding text.
important
If the
bold
 checkbox is marked in the Subtotal line effects tab, the Subtotal line in each section of rows in the report will appear bold.
note
The
Underline
 option is not available for Title line effects.
