Customize standard documents and clauses in Microsoft Word
Standard Documents and Standard Clauses include drafting notes to help you understand and customize them. You can open them as Microsoft Word templates, ready for you create your initial drafts.
- Use one of the following methods to open a list of Standard Documents or Standard Clauses:
- Select a Practice Area from thehomepage, then selectStandard DocumentsorStandard Clausesfrom theResource Typestab.
- SelectStandard DocumentsorStandard Clausesfrom theResources Typestab on thehomepage, then select a Practice Area.
- Enter the title of a document or clause in theSearch bar.
- Apply filters or use theSearch barto narrow the list of documents or clauses.
- noteThere may be different versions of the same document or clause , such as pro-party, short-form, and long-form.
- Select the title of a document or clause from the list to open it.
- Review the drafting notes.
- tipYou can selectDownloadto download a reading copy of the document or clause that includes the drafting notes.
- When you're ready to begin your draft, selectOpen in Wordto download a Word template without the drafting notes.
