View and edit a scheduled backup

Practice CS creates a scheduled backup of your firm’s database as a Windows scheduled task. If you've created scheduled backups using the Scheduled Backups window (
Setup
,
System Configuration
, then
Scheduled Backup
), you can view and edit the scheduled backup information.
  1. From the Windows Start menu, select
    Control Panel
    .
  2. In the Control Panel window, double-click
    Scheduled Tasks
    .
    note
    If your Control Panel displays in Category View, select
    Switch to Classic View
    to find the
    Scheduled Tasks
    icon.
    The task shows in the following format:
    PCSBackup_YourDatabaseServerName_YourSQLInstance_YourPracticeCSDatabaseName
  3. Right-click the task and select
    Properties
    from the menu.
  4. Select the
    Task
    tab.
    note
    The database that will be backed up shows in the
    Run
    field.
  5. You can use the Task, Schedule, Settings, and Security tabs to control the settings for the scheduled tasks.
    important
    Don't rename the task or you'll lose the ability to edit the task in Practice CS.
  6. When finished, select
    OK
    to close the window.
