Search can't find an item in Practice CS

Resolve empty or incorrect search results in Practice CS by verifying the search operator and search field settings.
Many screens in Practice CS include a search field that lets you quickly find a specific item.
If your search returns no results or the wrong results, check the following settings:

Search operator

The search operator controls how Practice CS matches your search entry to items in the list. You can set the operator to one of the following options:
  • Exact
  • Begins with
  • Contains
  • Ends with
If the operator is set to Exact, Practice CS only returns a match when you enter the item's complete ID or name. For the best results, use Begins with or Contains.
To check or change the search operator:
  1. Select the dropdown arrow in the
    Search
    field.
  2. Identify the operator with a checkmark. This is the currently selected operator.
  3. Select a different operator if needed.

Search fields

The search fields setting controls which fields Practice CS searches when you enter a value. If you search by a field that is not selected, Practice CS won't return a match.
To check or change the search fields:
  1. Select the dropdown arrow in the
    Search
    field.
  2. Select
    Search Fields
    .
  3. Review the list of available fields. Fields with a checkmark are currently included in the search.
  4. Select a field to add or remove it from the search.
