Staff member can't set up a custom portlet in Practice CS

If a staff member can't set up a custom portlet in Practice CS, grant them access to Custom Portlets in their Security Group settings.
If a staff member can't set up a custom portlet, their Security Group may not have the correct access. Follow these steps to update their security settings.

Sign in to Practice CS with the Admin account before following these steps. If any options are missing or inaccessible when signed in with your staff account, switch to the Admin account.
  1. Go to
    Setup
    Security Groups
    .

    If the Security Groups option is missing when signed in as Admin, your firm doesn't have Firm Security turned on. This means that security settings are not causing the issue. Contact Practice CS Support at 800-968-0600 for further assistance instead of continuing with these steps.
    If the option is missing when signed in with your staff account, sign in as Admin and try again.
  2. Select the Security Group that the affected staff member belongs to, then
    Edit
    .
  3. Expand
    Practice CS
    Menu
    Setup Menu
    and mark the
    Custom Portlets
    checkbox.
  4. Expand
    Practice CS
    Menu
    View Menu
    Home Dashboard
    Custom Portlets
    at mark at least 1 of the following options:
    • Firm News Feed
    • Report Viewer
    • RSS News Feed
    • Web Page
  5. Select
    Enter
    to save your changes.
