Expired licenses

Licenses for Practice CS expire annually on October 1.

What happens if my licenses expire?

Between October 1 and November 15, you'll lose access to software updates and our Technical Support department won't be able to help you with your Practice CS questions.
After November 15, your application will go into unlicensed mode. Unlicensed mode limits the functionality of the application. The limitations depend on your license type.

Unlicensed mode

Unlicensed mode takes effect on November 15 (45 days after your October 1 license expiration). With unlicensed mode, you'll lose some functionality of the application.
To determine how unlicensed mode will affect you:
  1. Open Practice CS.
  2. Select
    Help
    then
    About
    .
  3. Go to the
    Type
    column.
  4. You'll have one of these 3 options: Standard, Perpetual, Annual.
    • Standard or Perpetual
: You'll still be able to view your data and enter new data. You won't be able to download CS Connect updates.
    • Annual
: You'll have a 10-day countdown to unlicensed mode beginning on November 5. Once the application goes into unlicensed mode:
      • You can't enter any new data or make changes to existing data. You'll still be able to view your data.
      • You can only print unfiltered, ungrouped, and unsorted reports. This is because making changes to report options is considered a change to your data.

Expired modules

If you're getting messages that your license for Project Management, Client Management, or Staff Management are expired:
  • You can choose to renew those modules.
  • Or, you'll need to remove the license files to clear the warning message.
