Install license files

After you've installed the application files, you'll need to install the licenses for Practice CS. In most cases, you'll use CS Connect to install the licenses.

Install licenses with CS Connect

CS Connect is installed automatically when you install Practice CS, providing a convenient way for you to download application and license updates via a modem or internet connection.
Do the following to open Practice CS and use CS Connect to install the licenses electronically:
  1. Make sure you're signed-in to your computer or server as an administrator.
  2. Double-click the Practice CS shortcut on your desktop or select
    Start
    on the Windows taskbar and then
    All Programs
    ,
    CS Professional Suit
    , then
    Practice CS
    .
  3. Select
    Sample
    from the Open Firm field then select
    OK
    .
  4. To open CS Connect, select
    Help
    and then
    About Practice CS
    . From there, select
    Download Licenses
    .
  5. Enter your firm ID (found on your mailing label) and license PIN, and then select
    Next
    .
  6. If the Connect - Communications Setup window shows, verify or select the various communications settings applicable to your system so that you can communicate with our secure data center. When you're finished verifying your communications settings, select
    OK
    to close the Connect - Communications Setup window.
  7. In the CS Connect window, select
    OK
    . CS Connect signs in to our secure data centers and downloads your licenses.
  8. Follow the remaining prompts to install the licenses.

Install licenses received via email

If you got a Practice CS license file via email, follow the instructions in the email first and then do the following steps.
  1. The installation wizard prompts you to choose the destination location for Practice CS. Choose the folder where the shared files are installed.
    • The final destination for the application should be a folder called \WINCSI.
    • For example, you may have installed your shared files in F:\APPS\WINCSI.
  2. After you've verified the destination path, select
    Next
    to continue with the installation.
