Export general ledger entries to Excel
Practice CS includes a feature that lets you export journal entries that record accounting activity. If you use a 3rd party accounting software, you may still be able to convert this Practice CS data into your application.
Internal use only
Support isn't responsible for knowing how to import this into any 3rd party applications. If the firm needs help after this point, they'll need to contact their software vendor.
To do this, you'll need to export the data from Practice CS then import it into Excel.
- SelectFile,Export, thenJournal Entries.
- On the Export Journal Entries screen, selectExport.
- Open a blank workbook in Microsoft Excel.
- In Microsoft Excel, selectFilethenOpen.
- Navigate to X:\WinCSI\Practice CS Data\Data\Export where X is the drive where Practice CS is installed.
- Select the file named Trans.PCSJE GL<period end date>.xml and selectOpen.
After opening, Excel will display a window called "Open XML." Select the option
As a read-only workbook
and then select OK
.
From this point, work with your 3rd party software vendor to import this into your software. We can't guarantee that your 3rd party software will allow an import from Excel.
