Import journal entries from Practice CS to Accounting CS

Accounting CS enables you to import journal entries from Practice CS.

Export client data

Before you can import Practice CS journal entry data into Accounting CS, you must first export the data to a file that Accounting CS can read.
  1. Open Practice CS.
  2. Go to
    File
    Export
    Journal Entries
    .
  3. In the
    Export Journal Entries
     screen, select the date range for the journal entries to export.
  4. Select
    Options
     to pick options and account numbers for the exported journal entries.
  5. Select
    Export
    .

Import client data

Use the client data import wizard to import the Practice CS journal entries into Accounting CS.
  1. Open Accounting CS.
  2. Choose
    File
    Import
    Client Data
  3. In the I
    mport Client Data Wizard
    , select the client from the
    Client Name
     field.
  4. Make sure
    Practice CS
     is selected in the
    Source
     field.
  5. Select the import file from the
    File name
     field.
    note
    The Practice CS export file default name is
    Trans.PCSJE GL<period end date>.xml
    , where <period end date> is the period end date specified in the export date range in Practice CS.
  6. Select
    Finish
    .
