Select a NetClient CS invoice as paid
When an invoice is sent fromPractice CS to a NetClient CS portal, it shows in the Open tab of My Invoices. One the invoice is marked as paid, it's moved to the Paid tab.
Mark as paid
A NetClient CS invoice can be marked as paid one of 3 ways.
1. By accepting the integrated receipt that is created when the client pays the invoice through the NetClient portal.
When the client pays the invoice through NetClient, a receipt is automatically created in the Integrated Receipts tab of the Receipt & Adjustment Entry screen. When the receipt is accepted, the invoice is automatically marked as paid in NetClient CS.
To accept the receipt:
- In Practice CS, selectActionsthenReceipt & Adjustment Entry.
- Select the Integrated Receipts tab.
- Select a control date using theApply receipts to Control Datedropdown.
- If applicable, select a bank account using theAssign receipts to Bank Accountdropdown.
- Put a checkmark next to the receipt and selectAccept Selected.
2. By creating a receipt, applying it to the NetClient invoice, and marking it as paid.
If the client pays the invoice using a method other than via the NetClient portal (via a mailed check, for example) or if you want to apply a credit memo or write-off to the invoice, you'll need to manually enter a receipt or adjustment entry in Practice CS. When you apply the receipt or adjustment to the invoice, you can right-click the invoice in the Applied Amounts window and select

Marking the NetClient invoice as paid doesn’t automatically apply a receipt or adjustment entry to the invoice. It only moves the NetClient invoice from the Open tab to the Paid tab in the NetClient CS portal.
To manually create a receipt or adjustment entry and select the invoice as paid:
- In Practice CS, selectActionsthenReceipt & Adjustment Entry.
- Select the Receipt tab or the Adjustment tab and create a new entry to be applied to the invoice.
- Open the Applied Amounts window using the ellipsis between the Amount and Applied Amount columns.
- Find the NetClient invoice in the list of invoices and enter the amount you want to apply in the Applied Amount column.
- Right-click the invoice and selectMark as paid in NetClient CS.
3. By marking the NetClient invoice as paid in Billing
You can select the invoice as paid in the Review tab of the Billing screen.

To mark the NetClient invoice as paid in the Billing screen:
- In Practice CS, selectActionsthenBilling.
- Select the Review tab.
- Find the NetClient invoice. If your firm uses approval and posting for billing, unmarkUnapproved onlyandUnposted onlyin the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Put a checkmark next to the NetClient invoice, then right-click it and selectMark as paid in NetClient CS.
Mark as unpaid
If a NetClient CS invoice was mistakenly marked as paid or you want to move it back to the Open tab for any reason, go to either the Billing Review tab or the Applied Amounts window in Receipt & Adjustment Entry, right-click the invoice and select
Mark as unpaid in NetClient CS
