Manage capital letter information in UltraTax CS Data Sharing with Practice CS

When you enter client information in UltraTax CS using all capital letters and use mixed case in Practice CS, the system may prompt you to Data Share each time you open a client in either program. To prevent these prompts caused by capitalization differences, you can adjust your settings to ignore them.

Ignore capitalization differences in UltraTax CS

  1. Open UltraTax CS and go to
    Setup
    Office Configuration
    .
  2. Go to the
    Data Sharing
    tab.
  3. Mark the
    Ignore capitalization differences in data share
    checkbox.
  4. Select
    OK
    to save your changes.

Print client data in all capital letters in UltraTax CS

UltraTax CS also lets you print all tax forms and reports in capital letter, regardless of how you originally entered the information.
  1. In UltraTax CS, go to
    Setup
    Office Configuration
    .
  2. Go to the
    Data Sharing
    tab.
  3. Mark the
    Print client data in capital letters
    checkbox.
  4. Select
    OK
    to confirm.
When you enable this setting, UltraTax CS will print client information in all capital letters on forms and reports, even if you entered it in mixed case. This approach helps you maintain consistency in printed documents and reduces unnecessary Data Share prompts.
