Set up completion and extension events on projects and tasks
You can use UltraTax CS status events to complete or extend Practice CS projects or tasks automatically.
- Set up Practice CS and UltraTax CS for integration and data sharing.
- In UltraTax CS, create a completion or extension event.
- In Practice CS, selectSetup, thenFirm.
- In thePreferencestab, selectIntegrate this firm with other solutions.
Add events to a current project or task
- SelectActions, thenManage Projects.
- Select either theProjectstab or theTaskstab. The following steps reference projects, but if you select theTaskstab, replace “Project” with “Task” in the steps.
- Create a filter:
- Filter byProject Template IDorProject Template Description.
- Set the method tois in the listMethod.
- Select the ellipsis and select the projects you want to assign the event to.
- SelectOK.
- Select the 1st project in the list to highlight it.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list of projects.
- Hold theShiftkey and select the last project in the list. All the projects should now be selected.
- Right-click the selected projects and selectEdit Selected Projects.
- SelectChange project informationand selectNext.
- Selectsolutionas the field you'd like to update and selectUltraTax CSas the solution.
- Select the event you want to assign to the project. You can't assign an extension event to a task because tasks can't be extended.
- If the event you want to assign is not listed, populate a list of UltraTax CS completion events.
- SelectFinish.
- SelectYes.
Add to a project or task template
If you want the event to be assigned to future generations of the project or task, add it to a template.
- SelectSetup,Templates, thenProjects.
- Select the project template you want to change and selectEdit.
- To change a project template, select theMaintab.
- To change a task template, selectTasks, then double-click on the task you want to change.
- Select theSelect Solutiondropdown and selectUltraTax CS.
- Use theCompletion eventorExtension eventdropdown to assign an event. You can't assign an extension event to a task because tasks can't be extended.
- If the event you want to assign is not listed, populate a list of UltraTax CS completion events.
